Cashless society

Speaking of cash... NZ rivals Canada in being a great example of a cashless society.  It took us almost a week & a half to burn through the $500 NZ we brought with us (even though we've been spending money like water) since pretty much everywhere accepts debit/credit.  And unlike Canada, here they actually know about chip & pin and I can get away without signing a slip about 75% of the time.

Its still taking us a bit to get used to the bigger numbers... a main meal at a restaurant is usually never less than $20 NZ, and pints are often $8, but when you convert back to CAD or GBP, NZ is generally quite cheap for most things.  Especially alcohol.. I even hit the jackpot with a sale for a 2-4 for $24 NZ... buck a beer!  Which is about 70 cents CAD or 40 pence GBP.

As they would say here.... sweet as.

Syd.
